A COMMUNITY THAT SHOWED UP

Sometimes impact looks like a major accomplishment, a medal, or a big announcement.
Sometimes it looks like 63 people sweating together on a Saturday morning.
This weekend, Cirque Athletics packed up some equipment, left the comfort of our own gym, and headed to The Avenue Viera for a free community workout led by Coach Stephen.
Stephen is a CrossFit Level 4 Coach, co-owner of Cirque Athletics, and a lululemon Ambassador. One of the opportunities that comes with that role is finding ways to connect with the community through movement, and this weekend was a pretty great example of exactly what that can look like.
The workout was completely free and open to the community. No Cirque membership. No CrossFit experience. No prerequisite other than being willing to show up and move.
And 63 people did exactly that.
THE ENERGY WAS THE STORY
We knew people had registered, but seeing the space actually fill up was something different.
Cirque members showed up alongside people we had never met before. Some participants train regularly. Others may have been trying something completely outside their normal routine. For one morning, none of that really mattered.
Everyone was just there to work out.
People moved through the stations, figured things out together, encouraged strangers, laughed, sweated, and brought an incredible amount of energy to the space.
That's the part we love.
Fitness has a funny way of making introductions unnecessary. Put people through a workout together and suddenly they're counting reps for each other, cheering someone through the last minute, and celebrating finishing something that felt considerably easier when it was written on the board.
WHY WE DO THINGS OUTSIDE THE GYM
Cirque Athletics is obviously a physical place, but we don't want our community to exist only inside our building.
Stephen's role as a lululemon Ambassador gives us another opportunity to take the things we value inside Cirque and bring them into the community around us.
Good coaching matters. Movement matters. But so does creating spaces where people feel comfortable trying something new.
For someone who has never walked into a CrossFit gym, signing up for a membership can feel like a big first step. Showing up to a free Saturday workout in the middle of Viera? That's a much smaller one.
Maybe someone discovered they actually enjoy working out.
Maybe someone met a new training partner.
Maybe someone who hadn't exercised in a while remembered how good it feels to move.
Or maybe 63 people simply had a really fun Saturday morning.
All of those outcomes count.
63 PEOPLE SHOWED UP
That's ultimately what we'll remember most about this event.
Sixty-three people chose to spend part of their Saturday moving together.
We're grateful to lululemon and The Avenue Viera for creating opportunities like this, to our Cirque members who came out and brought the energy they're known for inside our gym, and to every new face who trusted Stephen enough to follow along and see what happened.
Cirque Athletics will always be a place where we train hard, chase skills, compete, perform, and occasionally make questionable decisions involving very difficult workouts.
But we also want to be a place that contributes to the community around us.
This weekend, that meant taking the workout outside, opening it to everyone, and seeing who showed up.
Turns out, 63 people did.
And we'd call that a Saturday morning very well spent.
